Try before you buy!
If you’re buying your cheese from us at the Farmers market please ask for samples! If you tell us what occasion your cheese is for and when you want to eat it, we can offer recommendations.
What’s the best way to keep the cheese on the way home from the market?
As a general rule, when you’re bringing cheese back home, it can withstand moderate journeys without refrigeration. But don’t leave your cheese in a hot car – take it with you! Better still, bring a cooler with you when you visit the market.
How do I store my cheese?
Every cheese is different, but most can be wrapped in wax paper or coated cheese paper to give it breathability. Then place it in a loose plastic bag in the cheese drawer or a closed container in your refrigerator.
How long will cheese last?
All cheese is best eaten sooner rather than later, but it really depends on the individual cheese and can be anywhere from a few days up to a few weeks. Fresh cheeses are the most perishable, so eat them quickly!
How long should I take cheese out of the refrigerator before serving?
Cheese is best enjoyed at room temperature where it has the fullest flavor, so we advise that you take it out of the refrigerator at least 30 minutes before serving.
